04 Nov: Kingdom Stages Entry List

… Kingdom Stages Rally, Saturday 6th October …

2019 winner of the Kingdom Stages Rally Andrew Kirkaldy and Peter Carstairs head the entry for this weekend’s penultimate round of the Marshall Construction Scottish Tarmack Championship. Current leader of the series, Alistair Inglis with brother Colin run at number two, both crews running Ford Fiesta R5 machinery. At number three is 5 times winner of the Kingdom, John Rintoul, who seems to change cars more often than his underpants, with Ross Hynd debuting John’s new MINI JCW WRC.

There’s no sign of James Miller and Fraser MacNicol in the Glenrothes MSC organised rally entry list who ares currently holding 2nd and 3rd places in the championship overall, and with a poor score on Mull, Kyle Adam is a non starter but that has allowed faither Gary to take up the entry with Steven Brown in the Escort. However that should give Chris and Peter McCallum a solid chance to improve their current 4h place standing in the championship points table.

And yet, there is still much more to fight for with the best 4 scores from the shortened 6 round series counting towards final championship points totals and this weekend could highlight  just who will be the potential title hopefuls.

Elsewhere in the top ten are Ian and Allan Paterson in the Subaru with Greg Inglis and Ian Parker in the Lotus Exige, Barry Groundwater and Michael Hendry in the Impreza WRC and North of England visitors, Peter Gibson and Chris Dodds in the Mitsubishi. Lee and Cole Hastings are at number nine in the Subaru with an on-form Des Campbell and Craig Forsyth at number ten in the Peugeot. However, despite stunning runs on the three recent Warcop, Arbroath and Mull events, Dangerous Des could well lose out on the championship title having missed out on the opening double points scoring round at Machrihanish.

Given that line-up and what’s at stake, there could be more fireworks on the 6th of November than there was on the previous evening!

The final round of the series will take place at Milltown near Elgin on November 20th.
