… Armstrong Galloway Hills Rally, 11th Sept. 2021 …
The Race is on … Yes I know it’s a rally but the race for points is on with a vengeance. This weekend’s Armstrong Galloway Hills Rally will be the penultimate round of this Covid shortened season and although the Points Table looks quite spread out – don’t be fooled.
The asterisks show that Jock Armstrong, Ian Forgan, Mark McCulloch and Ian Baumgart are the only four of the top ten table toppers to have scored on all three rounds so far, and with drivers and co-drivers counting their best 4 scores from the 5 round series, things are tighter than a stripped nut.
Both Garry Pearson and Freddie Milne have a win apiece plus one third place each whilst Armstrong has scored three runner-up positions from 3 events, so really, there is little more than a single sheet of Izal between them. Michael Binnie is still well in with a shout too with a 4th and 5th from two events although both Ian Forgan and Mark McCulloch need to rack up a few more points to stay in touch.
As for David Bogie, he’s counting only one score following his victory on the RSAC Scottish so if he takes top points this weekend, that might have an impact on final KNC Groundworks Scottish Championship placings at the end of the season.
In other words, it’s all to play for.

SS1 – Richardson & Starling CAIRN EDWARD …………………… 10:15 – 12:15
Parking available off the A762 in an area provided by Forestry & Land Scotland, and additionally, on the roadside of the A762 (please park sensibly
and leave the marked ‘passing places’ empty). From the A762, it is a short 5-10 minute walk, up a path & over a bridge constructed for you, to good viewing location mid-stage.
SS3 – Erskine Automotive Services DUNHARBERRY ……………. 11:30 – 13:30
Enter the forest on the ‘Raiders Road Forest Drive’ (accessed from A762) and drive into the forest to reach the Spectator Area. NOTES: Please do not ignore the signs on the maps on pages 14-15. Best viewing of this tightened junction is on the banking, back from the stage:

Spectators should be in position before ‘Spectator Control’ passes through the stage.
COVID-19 Precautions will be in place – please follow instructions on arrival.
