21 Apr: DCC Stages Entry List

… STRC, Rd 02 at Ingliston …

The second round of the Scottish Tarmack Championship takes place this weekend after a short winter holiday break following the Grant Construction Knockhill Stages at the beginning of Janfrozenuary. Dunfermline Car Club has received a full-house entry for Saturday’s DCC Stages Rally, in association with Blackwood Plant Hire, which will be based at Ingliston near Edinburgh.

Unfortunately this is a NON-SPECTATOR event. Not because of the ongoing Motor Sport Safety Review Group deliberations and cogitations, but it’s all down to the restrictions imposed by the insurance company on behalf of the site owners.

Which is a pity, as DCC have attracted quite an entry. We all know Brucie and Stuart are quick but this will be the first tarmac outing for Andrew Gallacher’s new Fiesta Evolution and Alistair Inglis has had some teething problems with his Lotus up till now. Stuart Walker will be back behind the wheel of the Fabia after a Border Counties outing with the Evo and he will be followed by the Imprezas of Ian Paterson and Jim McDowall. Big Hamish should give folk a fright with the Honda engined Escort and there are two racing drivers rounding off the top ten, Charlie Shaw and Alan Kirkaldy.

And there’s more. Stevie Hope will be quick in the Mk2 and remember James Gibb was fast out of the blocks at Knockhill 3 months ago. Colin Gemmell is back in the 2 litre Impreza so he must still be having trouble with the 2.5 litre machine and Edward Todd is always worth a watch in the GTM. Reigning Champion Paul Ballantyne will he hoping to increase his pace this year and look out too for Iain Wilson first time out in four wheel drive!

There are 8 stages (around 6 mls each) planned with the first getting underway at 9.00 am. Look out for updates on the Blog and Facebook.
