01 Sept: Merrick Spect Info & Entry

GWF Energy Merrick Stages …
Spectator Information and Full Entry List …

Friday 6th September 17:00 Hrs to 22:00 Hrs.
Scrutineering in front of Wigtown Town Hall with Documentation & Help Desk inside the Town Hall.
The organisers will also be giving away FREE Spectator Maps and Timetables which are far more informative than the stuff contained here!

Saturday 7th September
09:00 Hrs – First car leaves the Square, Wigtown

PLEASE NOTE: Access MUST be kept free for Emergency Vehicles at all times at all stages.

09:40 Hrs – SS1: Craiqnell
Access from the A712 north east of Newton Stewart at Clatteringshaws at the unclassified road south of the dam, signposted ‘offroad to Glentool’ (on the opposite side of the road from the Cairn Edward Forest Drive). Also look out for the ‘Spectator’ arrows at the Black Loch entrance to the forest.

11:39 Hrs – SS3 Glentrool
Access to the mid point of Glentrool from the unclassified road due north of Bargrennan, through Glentrool village (past the Service area). Also access from the A714 two miles north west of Bargrennan. And why not treat yourself to a nice pub lunch in the House o’ Hill Hotel at Bargrennan?

12:06 Hrs – SS4 Arroch Hill
North of the Glentrool test is the Arroch Hill test and still accessible from the unclassified Glentrool road. But remember this is a narrow road so be careful where you park and don’t block the Passing Places. There are no official parkies here, but if you do block the road, an anonymous tractor driver may well push you further off the road to clear the way!

13:30 Hrs – SS5 Auchinleck
Access to the fifth stage off the A712 is similar to the first stage as it is in the same forest, but different route, so be careful and look out for the spectator arrows.

14:40 Hrs – 1st Car due back in the Square, Wigtown
17:30 Hrs (approx.) – Prize-giving in the Town Hall, Wigtown

Note: and there’s no need to pack a pickynick box, not with Steven Cronnie the Butcher’s superior succulent pies wafting their tantalising sniffalots across the Square at Wigtown. A pie for breakfast and a pie for tea with a rally in the middle, life doesn’t get much better than that. P.S. He ran out of pies last year!
