Weel Faither,
What a grand thing this is that you're dae'n noo. Writin a' thae stories for us mortals tae read. Aye am jist like you, gittin dragged screamin an kickin intae the 21st century, a've got a laptop. As a'm typin this of course this new fangled thing is drawing wee rid lines ablow the words fir it canny spell the wey that we speak.
Anyway Jaggy, congratulations on the new venture, it's just a breath of fresh air, considering some of the rubbish that gets written on here. Especially yon rally forum.
I really like the culture section. How far was your cheek sticking out with your tongue?
Now then about chicanes. Is there no way we could get the average speed increased even if it meant increased insurance? Did we not used to penalise Metro 6R4s in the not too distant past. Could we not just add a minute on to everybody's time. Maybe a 'stop/go' box immediately after the start line for say 30 seconds?
Don't really suppose we could go back to Targa timing. Insurance companies wouldn't like it nor the MSA.
Well good luck Jaggy and keep up the good work. All you have to do now is find a way so that everybody that reads it actually has to pay.
I see your gallery has nothing in it well I've attached a rather good photy of an ex British Rally Champion (that every body had forgotten about) and me taken on the McRae Stages. Must have been bloody early.

(Ed: Aye, point taken. It was nearly 20 years ago we were penalising the 4WD craturs, but as you say them seat polishing, blazer wearers doon the road don't like it!)

Dear Jaggy,
I enjoyed reading about your illustrious ancestor, Saint Even, But all the time, the thought was at the back of my mind, - "Should I believe a word of this?"
So, off to Wikipedia, and a search for Saint Even. My suspicions were confimed when Wiki replied with "No page exists with this title" Ah Ha! I've caught him out, the big fraud!
However after a bit more delving, I found a "Saint Evan of Ayrshire". So now I don't know what to believe!
I like the web site. You're right about the words being more important than the flashy graphics. I still recount the tale about Andy Horne's Lucky Tyres.
Awrabest Awratime,
Ian McRae
(Ed: The writer doth doubt inadvisedly. Of course it's all true. This carefully researched history is absolutely, genuinely and totally, almost, 100% accurate!)

Hi Jaggy,
Just a holler to say awra best wiff the webythingamejig.
Looks like it could have the foundation of being a hoot and a holler along with informed and informative speculation, judgement and general nonsense.
Snowman report excellent and a wee mention for Reay...brilliant in horror conditions ...hoping to see the MK II Escorts from God's Country ripping it up all season and showing the specs what real skill it takes to command a 2WD.

Dear Jaggy,
I have had a wee look thru yer weeb site, and um faer impressed, an ta think ya pit this the gither yersel' is just mind blowing - yer jist a star!! and there is nae holding you back now!!!
But on a maer serious note, there is nae report up on the Snowman Rally which concluded some 36 hrs ago. I take it this might be an age thing becuase like the rest of us you cannae be gettin' any younger - but I'm only guessing here because I have never actually met you in the flesh.
I can remember the days when your reports were up on the web within hours of the conclusion of an event (and that was not that long ago), or out in glorious mono print within a few days, but I can only assume things are taking you a little longer to do now.
Anyway, keep up the good work and I look forward to reading your article when it appears. Mind 'in mention ma boy setting fastest time on SS1 with Alick Kerr in a wee Fiesta, and the fact they popped a shaft in ss4 and had to limp through and were lucky to achieve a finish with 1 wheel drive in the conditions dropping 2 minutes in the stage, dropping them from a potential 6th to 11th, but a good result nonetheless.
Yer ither auld pal,
Willie Stroke ( aka Bill 'Lucky' Sturrock )
( Ed: A slaggin', a plea and praise, all in my very first email message from the nation - ye cannae get much better than that! )
